Post-Season Information

2/26/14:  All Varsity members will meet in Coach Allen's room after school for end of season award voting as well as individual meetings.

2/27/14-3/4/14:  ALL boys that played basketball this year grades 7-12, you need to sign up for a post-season interview with Coach Allen ASAP.  Sign up sheets are outside Coach Allen's classroom (125).  Times available are before and after school from 2/24-3/2.  This is a mandator process for ALL boys who played basketball this year.

A REMINDER TO ALL BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYERS:
All equipment, uniforms, inventory, and other needs to be turned into Coach Allen ASAP in the condition that it was issued in.  If anything was lost, stolen, or damaged, it is the responsibility of the student-athlete to replace it per team rules.

2/25/14 @MLWR (Playoffs)

Pine City fell to MLWR in Moose Lake on Tuesday night's playoff meeting 73-63.

Mitchell Hansmann lead The Dragons in the hard fought effort with 27 points, including 6 made 3's.  Noah Adams chipped in 18 points in the loss.  Sophomore Kole Jusczak continued his great performances on the rebounding end with a team high 9 rebounds.  Senior Austin Pavelka had a team high 5 assists.

Playoff Picture

The Dragons were awarded the 6th seed in the section after not being able to make up the Aitkin game due to circumstances outside of Pine City's control.

We will play the 3rd seeded Moose Lake-Willow River on Tuesday (2/25/14) at 7PM.  Bus will leave at 5PM.  The game will be played at Moose Lake.

2/20/14 @Aitkin

Game is postponed due to weather.  We are working on rescheduling it.

2/18/14 Mora

The Dragons played Mora to a 27-23 halftime score but were unable to keep up the steam in the loss playing with a short bench.  Kole Jusczak lead Pine City with 14 points while Easton Foss and Mitchell Hansmann each chipped in 9.  Senior Nate Schied came off the bench to pull down a team-high 5 rebounds.

The last regular season game of the year will be on Thursday at Aitkin.

2/16/14 @MLWR

The Dragons were unable to overcome the weird circumstances at Moose Lake-Willow River on Saturday falling to the Rebels 70-44.

Noah Adams lead the way for The Dragons with 16 points.  Kole Jusczak had 8 rebounds while Adams pulled down 7.

2/13/14 Ogilvie

Pine City celebrated Senior/Parent night with a win over Ogilvie on Thursday night 72-42.  Sophomore Kole Jusczak and Noah Adams paced the Dragons with 23 and 20 points respectively.  Junior Easton Foss had 13 while fellow junior Mitch Hansmann had 8.

Adams also dolled out 6 assists.  Jusczak had his first career double-double with 12 rebounds on the night.  Hansmann pulled down 7 boards and Foss had 6.

2/11/14 H-F

Pine City fell to Hinckley-Finlayson High School 70-39 on Tuesday night.  The Dragons were able to put up 72 field goals in the game but were only able to convert 13% of those shots.  Connor Clark lead the way for Pine City with 11 points.  Mitchell Hansmann had 12 rebounds while Kole Jusczak had 11.

Youth Camp

Our winter youth camp ended this last Saturday.  As a gift to those that attended, each camper was given a team picture.  The high school boys were available for autographs on the poster after camp.

Senior and Varsity Parent Night

On Thursday (2/13/14) we will take time before the Varsity game to recognize our seniors and our Varsity parents.  Please plan on attending and joining us in this moment.

2/7/14 @Isle

Pine City Boys Basketball was able to come back and defeat Isle High School 54-51 short-handed on Friday night.  Noah Adams, Mitchell Hansmann, and Kole Jusczak all scored in double digits for Pine City.  Big minutes from seniors Nate Scheid and Zach Amundson helped immensely in the first half when the Dragons found themselves in foul trouble.

2/6/14 Braham

Pine City fell to rival Braham High School on Thursday night 76-47.  The Dragons shot 54% inside the arc on the night with Gabe Gonyea leading the charge with 10 points.  Mitchell Hansmann pulled down a team high 5 rebounds in the contest.

The Dragons will have a quick turnaround traveling to conference foe Isle on Friday night.
