OPTIONAL Open Gym
There will be OPTIONAL Open Gym this Saturday from 9-11 AM at the New Gym in the Elementary School.
Acceleration North Jumping Program
Acceleration North run’s an 8 week off season vertical leap/speed/agility program and we discount it in the pre season to allow people to purchase it now and use it in the summer or fall. Athletes choose 8 consecutive weeks to train with us 2-3 days a week. We discount it down to $295 (up to 24 workouts possible) if purchased by tonight.
- We see an average of 2-4 inches in vertical leap
- If players participate in your High Schools summer strength and speed program, then players can use this in the fall prior to tryouts.
We have a new location in Lino Lakes now that allows players in the Northern Suburbs a convenient location to train. Hours there will be M –F 9am – 1pmand 4pm -9pm.
Players can register here: https://www.accelerationnorth. com/reg/registration2.php
Please share this with your players as an off season option to improve in performance.
Have a good day,
Acceleration North

Summer Open Gyms
Monday-Thursday: 7-11 AM at the High School Gym on June 9th-26th, July 7th-31st
We will be implementing a new “Unified Athletic Program” that will be run by all athletes at Pine City now and into the future. This would be a great start to jump on board with this. There will be times set aside during each open gym for working with the new Unified Athletic Program (lead by a coach) and time to do what you would like to work on; Coach Allen will be available at open gym except June 16-19th.
Offseason is a time for the individual to get better. We are expecting some new basketball equipment in this summer; please plan to attend open gyms/weight room if you can and are interested.
If you have questions on “what to work on during the offseason” or looking for suggestions on “how to improve my game individually”, please do not hesitate to contact Coach Allen and/or refer to our “program goals” sheet and end of the year interview sheet that is attached. We will have things put in place for the summer with athletic improvement and skill improvement. Open gym is the best opportunity for a player to improve!
There will be possible incentive programs set up for boys basketball revolving around hours, attendance, working with specific equipment, shots taken, and/or total number of dribbles.
Summer Camps and Tournaments
There are ample opportunities for camps and tournaments over the summer for all grade levels. All of the information is up on the blog or feel free to contact Coach Allen about it.
There will be a possible “Youth Camp” to work in May; more information will come at a later date.
Currently, the 2013-14 Varsity Members are invited to compete at:
- Maple Lake Varsity Tournament (June 9th)
- University of Minnesota-Duluth Team Camp (July 18-20th)
