6th grade boys played in a tourney this weekend at Northwoods school near Minong, WI. We took 3rd place in our pool.
Our roster this year consists of the following players.
Cole Waxberg -00, Kameron Jusczak-1, Casey Knutson-2, Drake Willert-3, Elijah Root-10, TJ Davis-12, Matthew Swanson-22, Micah Overtoom-32, Dylan Petersen-35, and Levi Dee-51.
Rush City 23-Pine City 10
Both teams played strong defense in the 1st half and the score was tied 8-8. The 3rd quarter was rough for PC as we had some foul trouble and lots of missed shots.
Duluth East 42-Pine City 35
We were up by 6 at the 1/2 but couldn’t manage to hold onto it. Again, foul trouble was an issue.
Hermantown 36-Pine City 49
We expected a strong contest with this team based on seeing their main players at some 3v3 events. However, we got ahead early with a couple 3 pointers by Waxberg and lots of nice post moves from Jusczak. Foul trouble again plagued us with 3 players ending up on the bench for most of the 4th quarter. However, our solid bench keep us in the contest and we held tight to the lead.
