Pine City senior Jake Lunceford has committed to play at Concordia College to play football next year.
While Lunceford has been a mainstay in Pine City Basketball over the last few years, his first passion has always been football.
In basketball, Lunceford has been starting since his sophomore year, and found his niche in his role as the team's defensive stopper. "For us, we have been able to utilize Lunce's talents and athletic ability on the defensive end with great success" said Head Coach Kyle Allen. "He has taken on a role that not everyone is able to do. It is easy to see why he has had so much success on the football field when you watch him play basketball. Lunceford is a good example of why it is important to be a three sport athlete."
Lunceford will join another former Dragon teammate, Mitchell Hansmann (2015 Pine City Graduate) at Concordia College, who is a currently a junior FB on the roster.
"Lunce's athletic abilities and talents are fun to watch" said Allen. "It will be fun to watch him concentrate on football and let those college coaches get a hold of him. His potential on the football field is high."
