Dragon boys score against Onamia, Foley

Pine City faced Foley is a tough sectional match-up on Friday, Feb. 21. Foley plays in the Granite Ridge Conference, where they play tough competition night in and night out. It was Foley’s senior night and the Dragons knew they were going to be in for a battle from the start.
Foley really caught the Dragons off guard at times in the first half with their physicality and work ethic.
“Going into halftime, I knew we would have to adjust and reassess what we were doing and how we were executing,” Allen said. “I was really happy with how we came out focused and dialed in throughout the second half. Our boys worked very hard to make the correct adjustments.”
Sometimes a player gets hot, and Pine City did a great job of finding who that player was. On Friday, Koleman Lind stole the show on the offensive end. He ended the game breaking the Pine City school record for made three-point shots in a game making 11 (previously held by Mitchell Hansmann with 8). Lind also tied the school’s scoring record with 39 total points.
“I really thought our guys did a great job of recognizing that Koleman had the hot hand and they did a great job of setting him up for success,” said Allen.
Kameron Jusczak was an absolute beast under the boards and ended with a game high 14 total rebound followed by Seth Logan with 12. Pine City had over 40 rebounds in the game and really limited Foley’s second chance opportunities.
“Dylan Petersen came off the bench and played some great minutes, he continues to do everything that is asked of him,” said Allen. “He really works his tail off to do things correctly.”
Duke Waxberg, Konnor Jusczak, and Seth Logan each had four assists as Pine City ended the night with 23 total as a team.
