Unlike the game against Mora on Thursday, PC showed some grit in their refusal to give into the physical style of play that Milaca brought to Pine City.
There were several times throughout the contest that The Dragons were within striking distance and were unable to pull ahead on those situations.
Pine City was lead on the boards by Kole Jusczak (33 points, 10 rebounds), Jake Lunceford (5 rebounds, 5 points), and Nathan Kleppe (4 points, 5 rebounds, 12 assists). Hot-shooting from Clay Logan (18 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds) sparked PC at crucial times.
In the contest, senior Kole Jusczak passed Andrew Lutz for second on the all-time scoring list. Jusczak now has 1,326 career points.
#5 Pine City will travel to #4 Mora on Thursday for the first round of playoffs. Pine City was the #4 seed but fell behind Mora in the tie-breaker.
