The boys then hosted neighboring school Hinckley-Finlayson on Thursday, January 19. This was a special night as the seniors and their parents were honored. “We have 15 seniors between managers and players; kids like being involved in our program. We celebrated them and said thank you to them and their parents tonight.”
The game started with both teams playing very physical and having to really grind. Wilson made the first bucket of the game with a full-court drive. Hinckley answered back with 2 points of their own. Hinckley hung with the Dragons, and half-way through the first half, the Dragons led 20-15.
It remained a close game and the second half would start with the score being 40-36. The Dragons continued to grind the second half, maintaining their composure and focus. They took the win with a score of 72-56.
Coach Allen reported, “We kept to our rotation, kept to the grind, kept our focus. Huge maturation showed in this game; I was happy with it.” Allen also commented on the achievements of both Riley Cummings and Luke Wilson, “Cummings continues to dominate on the board, and Wilson continues to play the creator role well.”
