The Dragons came out of the gate hard and executed well in the first half. Blake fought back hard in the second half, but the halftime lead was too much to overcome as Pine City defeated The Blake School (3A) 61-54 in the consolation game of the Cloquet Tournament (St. Paul Central defeated Cloquet in the championship game).
Juniors Kole Jusczak and Noah Adams lead the offensive attack for The Dragons with 23 and 22 points respectively. Jusczak pulled down 10 rebounds for the double-double, Adams had a game high 8 assists.
Seniors Gabe Gonyea, Connor Clark, Mitch Hansmann, and Easton Foss did the dirty work in the game. Foss chased around Jack Moe from Blake who lit up Cloquet the night before and held him to 6 points. Gonyea and Clark crashed the boards hard not allowing second chance points to the bigger Blake team. Hansmann sealed the game with a late "and 1".
